A crepe silk kimono with yuzen (rice resist dyed) patterns outlined with surihaku (metallic leaf outlining). The bold chrysanthemum patterns dominate this kimono. The chrysanthemum is a symbol of superior character, and has been respected in Japan since ancient times. Good condition, with many tiny patina spots. 49” from sleeve-end to sleeve-end x 61” height.
