Description:
A silk sakiori rug. Very good condition, with minor imperfections. 72” x 80”. “Sakiori” is a traditional Japanese painstaking technique of rag weaving utilizing strips of salvages kimono, futon covers and other fabric. This artifact was recently purchased from the estate of William Rathburn, curator emeritus for the Seattle Asian Art Museum.
