A cretonne (glazed cotton) textile sample fabric that is an original roller printed cotton from France produced in 1906. The fabric Art Nouveau florals in shades of green and pink on a cream background. Was purchased at auction in Paris and came from the famous Scheurer company who were one of Europe's great textile printers based in Mulhouse in Alsace, France. Retains the original label pertaining to the design and fabric content. The colours of this fabric are as vibrant as the day it was created in 1906 due to the fact that it has been kept in a sample book away from light for one hundred years. Excellent condition: taken uncut from the sample book, resulting in holes and tearing where it was taken from the stapled binding, so selvedged on two side. 30" x 18"
