A brocade 'kinran' silk temple hanging, called 'ban' that was dedicated to - and adorned - a temple. The names of the dedicators are written in kanji charcaters on the cotton reverse lining, as well as the date of dedication: 'Ganji Gannen'( 1864)(note that items 2607 and 2608 are almost identical, with the same dedicators, however, I am not sure whether one or both have the date written). The upper header is made of wood. Very good condition, with minor staining. 10" x 70"
