A silk uchishiki for Buddhist altar, featuring embroidered Buddhist cloud motifs and two mon (family crests) - Paulownia and 'kiku' (chrysanthemum) - elaborately couched with metallic gold embroidery. Bacj lining is of ramie. Good condition, with light staining/discoloration (see images). 37" along base, and 20" each along the two shorter sides.
Its embroidery work by hands is very delicate and gorgeous!
Right side textile is exquisite silk and has soft smooth touch.
Wrong side textile is asa(ramie).
