Description:
A silk haori with large ume (plum) blossom motifs. The embroidery utilized in creating these large blossom motifs involves very fine 'hiware' (ice-cracked') embroidery, a rare technique. The bamboo leaves were created by laboriously inserting fine flat gold threads. The detail images show each of these embroidery techniques quite clearly. 52" from sleeve-end to sleeve-end x 33" height
