A “ro” (gauze) summer silk kimono featuring a jumping carp motif realized with sumi-e and freehand pigment-painting techniques. Very good condition, with minor imperfections. 44” from sleeve-end to sleeve-end x 45” height. This example fits all the descriptions of a younger boys miyamairi kimono, except for the larger size (including a two-panel back). This kimono would have been worn by a 12 to14-year old youth for a special summer ceremony.
