This boy's plain weave silk miyamairi haori, designed for a ceremonial Shinto shrine blessing, features intricate artwork depicting the imperial palace and child figures. The imagery is created using a combination of yuzen-dyeing, simple and couching embroidery, and painting techniques. The artwork is highly detailed and abundant (refer to detail images). It remains in very good condition with minor imperfections, measuring 33 inches (83.8 cm) from sleeve-end to sleeve-end and 41 inches (104.1 cm) in height.
