A zagu with very strong fold lines. Zagu 坐具 The rectangular “sitting cloth,” used during ceremonies at the time of Buddhist ritual prostrations. Piece of cloth carried by monk on which bowing is done. (It is crisply folded and worn by the ordained over the left wrist.) The hems are made of purple silk featuring brocaded dragon roundels and cloud motifs. The yellow part is made of asa (Japanese hemp), and therefore is relatively stiff. Excellent condition.
