This 'ro' (gauze) hitoe (unlined) summer kimono displays vertical alternating bands of black and shibori-dyed purple. It's in very good condition overall, but there's a shattered silk area found on the fine silk lining of the inner collar. Measuring about 49 inches (124 cm) from sleeve-end to sleeve-end and standing at 57 inches (145 cm) in height, this kimono combines the elegance of the gauze fabric with the striking contrast of black and shibori-dyed purple bands.
